1 Clay Simpson (P) Clay had a great season Jr. year.  He has gotten stronger during the off season & we look forward to seeing what he can accomplish in his Senior season.  Carson Newman signee

2 Caleb Wilson (P/OF) Caleb has been a three year varsity starter.  He will pitch conference games and play the outfield in his senior season.  Milligan College signee

3 Troy Podvin (P/3b) Troy is also a three year varsity starter, he should be a power hitter in his senior season. Milligan College signee

4 Hunter Higgins (C) Four year varsity starter, Hunter has come to find himself at the plate in the off season and he continues to get better behind the plate.  Milligan College signee

5 Owen Nicholson four year varsity starter, Owen will move the short stop this season. 

 

2018 TEAM OUTLOOK:
 

Offense:  We have multiple veterans returning to our lineup for the 2018 season.  All of the seniors have three years of varsity experience are well rounded as far as power and contact guys.  We have had multiple underclassmen step up and compete for positions both in the field and at the plate.  This group typically hits the ball well and we expect much of the same in 2018.
 

Defense: Our 2018 team has multiple individuals that can play defensively at the varsity level.  We will have some players changing positions due to graduation, but their comfort level is high in the new position(s).  Our outfield will have speed and great arm strength all around, that goes for multiple line ups.  The infield will consist of players who have started in the infield for two plus years.  If we are willing to make the easy plays, we could be successful.
 

Pitching:  I feel like pitching could be a strong point for us in 2018.  Clay Simpson and Caleb Wilson will give us a chance in the conference.  We are deep in the position, but have some guys that are new to the varsity level. 
 

Overall outlook: I feel good about the 2018 season.  We have had multiple underclassmen step up and do well in the early scrimmages/practice.  We have multiple returners from last years team and they bring plenty of experience with them.
